The Wolf Academy welcomes its third cohort of Software Development apprentices as the previous group reach completion of their one year course and begin to secure roles in Wolf Group and other organisations in the region.
Ross Searle, James Cotton and Lois Black have begun their Level 3 apprenticeships where they’ll develop an excellent understanding of the entire software development lifecycle, have the opportunity to work on live client projects and gain experience in a successful business environment with staff members on all levels.
The three have all recently left school or college and are each passionate about IT from programming to designing graphic art but are all now ready to turn their passion into a career and their apprenticeship will allow them to do just that.
Upon completing their apprenticeship, they’ll receive two nationally accredited qualifications which our previous group have recently received. Aside from the qualifications, they will develop a skill set which they can carry on to any future roles as well as experience of working on both internal and external projects allowing them to put their skills into practice whilst still having the support of their tutor and experienced developers.
16 year old Ross Searle said, “I’ve known I wanted to pursue a career in IT for a while now, so i’m excited to have the opportunity to already be a part of a successful IT business where there are a host of opportunities to help me develop my skills.”
“I’m really looking forward to the challenge of working on client projects as I’m aware this is the kind of experience which will be beneficial to us in accessing roles after our apprenticeships.”
So far this year two members of the academy have secured roles with Wolf Group. It’s hoped that the Academy will continue to contribute towards filling the regions skills gaps and reducing unemployment.
