We’ve now employed more than 10 of our previous academy members as full time developers or testers, either at the Wolf Group office or on site with one of our clients in the region.
We’re currently looking for a new intake to join the Wolf Academy and take part in our software development training programme. This is an opportunity to develop your skills whilst discovering if Software Development is for you.
The course is completely free and flexible so you can fit training around your existing commitments. If you’re considering a career change, you can fit your hours around your current job. Or if you’re a parent, you’ll be able to attend the academy during school hours.
With tiered starting points, the programme is suitable for ranging abilities so you don’t need years of development experience. What you do need however, is a passion for IT with a keen interest in software development. Good problem solving skills are useful too.
For those who demonstrate passion and a strong work ethic and who are a good fit with the team, there are opportunities for paid employment upon completion. The academy could be just the start of a successful career in the industry.
On the programme, you will complete training covering the entire software lifecycle, giving you a well-rounded introduction to the development process.
If you successfully complete all three levels of the programme, you will then move onto a live project. This will give you a chance to put your new skills and knowledge into practice alongside experienced developers who can guide and support you.
Maths Graduate and Junior Developer Lewis Patterson said, “Joining the academy allowed me to gain the experience employers ask for. Upon completion of the programme, I was offered a full time role with the company”.
The North East tech and digital scene is thriving, with hundreds of opportunities for those interested in a career in these areas. At Wolf Group, we’re proud that we’re able to offer a platform for those looking to make this step, whilst knowing that we’re contributing to filling skills gaps in the region and expanding the talent pool.
If you’d like to benefit from real world experience and the opportunities that come with it, apply for the Wolf Academy today.
